Hello Guys, If you have two or more pages with similar content, you can tell google, which is your preferred page to show in the search engine results. This is referred to as your 'canonical' page.

Thanks and Regards ARIANA

If you have multiple pages of similar content then Google when it crawls through the pages considers as duplicate ones. In order to avoid the canonical tag is used where in google just considers only the specific page for indexing which avoids duplicate pages.

IP canonicalization is another critical step to good website SEO. It happens when your site’s IP address doesn’t redirect to its traditional URL.

If your site open with multiple URL, its called canonical error. When SE comes to your site for index and crawl, it is confused that which page is original and which is duplicate because all URL display same content.

Canonical means conforming to well-established patterns or rules. The term is typically used to describe whether or not a programming interface follows the already established standard.

The tag "canoncial" is used to tell the search engines to index a particular URL while there may be similar pages as it.
