Can I host a web site on my residential Cable or DSL connection?

Do you have a static ip? We (sure we are a hosting company) would not recommend you this, but if you have a static ip and our Cable company TOS allow it, you can generally do it. But for this the upload speed compare with a real hosting should be not really fast, anyway you also need a 24/7 running computer and you have to pay eletric - for a small website a hosting should be the better option.
