A data center is a facility used to house computer systems and associated components, such as telecommunications and storage systems. It generally includes redundant or backup power supplies, redundant data communications connections, environmental controls (e.g., air conditioning, fire suppression) and various security devices. Large data centers are industrial scale operations using as much electricity as a small town.

A data center is an office that concentrates an association's IT operations and gear, and where it stores, oversees, and spreads its information. Server farms house a system's most basic frameworks and are indispensable to the progression of every day operations.

Data centers are physical or virtual infrastructure used by enterprises to house computer, server and networking systems and components for the company's information technology (IT) needs, which typically involve storing, processing and serving large amounts of mission-critical data to clients in a client/server architecture.

A data center, or datacenter, often requires extensive redundant or backup power supply systems, cooling systems, redundant networking connections and policy-based security systems for running the enterprise's core applications.

Data center management involves ensuring the reliability of both the connections to the data center as well as the mission-critical information contained within the data center's storage. It also entails efficiently placing application workloads on the most cost-effective compute resource available.

A data server is basically a computer without peripherals like monitors and keyboards. A server operates entirely as a saving location, and is connected to a network to make that data accessible to computers. In the case of an Internet server, the device is connected to the Web, so that any computer with a Web connection can access the files stored on the server. Servers store and process data just like a computer, and are connected to the Internet through wired or wireless connections.

Data centers are simply centralized locations where computing and networking equipment is concentrated for the purpose of collecting, storing, processing, distributing or allowing access to large amounts of data.

And a server at that place is called as data center server.

A data center is made up of numerous data servers housed in the same complex. Like computers, servers require certain environmental conditions, such as moderate levels of heat and humidity, as well as network connections to access the Internet.
