How strict is Google's objection to duplicate content? One duplicate? Many duplicates?

I mean, if I post on my blog and then post that same article on one article directory, will I be penalized? How about two article directories?

And how does Google punish us for putting out duplicate content?

When it comes to the proper SE Optimization techniques, the most important thing to be avoided will be content duplication, because having duplicate content on your website or blog will definitely affect you during the Google panda update.

Duplicate content is a big issue for Google. Your website will be considered a spam with the use of duplicate content. If you use references then its fine, or else your website will be treated as spam.

if your site has duplicate content, your site ranking will not be improved. you should change your duplicate content.
