What is difference between description and meta description in the directory submission

Are you doing directory submission still..? Don't submit your website in a lot of directory list..

When I did Directory then I just write few words description about our website details.

In a directory you have to write the description yourself in more words. Meta description is written to summarize the main lengthy description you write in it

Both description and meta description are same.
It is a brief text about the website.
