Social Media Marketing and optimization have seen great leaps in recent years as users begin to buy, engage and discuss with and to brands through these channels. Providing graduates and professionals with different avenues to showcase and share their digital marketing talents. But new Google technology may change all that.
Google announced its plans to launch software that imitates the way you post to social media outlets. In essence these posts will be computer generated responses and "thought curators" that will produce messages to audiences that Google and its computers think your audience wants to see and that you could potentially post.
The objective is to create personalized content such as reactions and messages that will be customized to the specific user and continuously modify responses so that users aren't bombarded with automated-style messages that already cram up blogs and other websites that offer comment sections.
The patent is thought to change the way businesses and celebrities communicate with their audience, especially those who don't have the time to respond to comments or the luxury of hiring staff to cover these often neglected areas.
Yet and still, it still smells like spam to us. This further perplexes us because Google has had a long standing history of penalizing spammy posts. So why on earth would they try to implement the same things that they so heavily penalize?
All that we can guess is the monopolization of social indicators, search and little bit of help to small business owners.
Think about it, this will give them extensive and intensive data that will feed the information hungry world that wants to know and understand demographics, psychographics and numbers as a whole all while giving smaller businesses an opportunity to have tailored messaged responses without having to spend time creating them.
But, we can't help but wonder what that will do to the thousands of social media specialist, and community builders who make a living providing personalized, human, interactions with their audiences?
Being raked over the coals by robot technology has infuriated jobseekers trying to find a place in the internet marketing realm, with software that can predict and analyze trends leaving many professionals out in the cold.
Not to mention social media management systems like Hootsuite, TweetDeck and Spreadfast that will be affected by this potential software. These systems only provide a platform for delivery not creation.
SMOs and SEOs have a love hate relationship with Google because of penalties, algorithms and other updates that modify and dismantle strategies that have been implemented. While Robotic technology is great when it actually benefits those involved this undermines what
Google was thought to stand against and isolates a group of professionals whose work goes into nurturing social communities.
