I want to build a website selling baby clothes for my friends. I should choose Magento or Opencart ?

You have to choose Magento.

You can choose anyone of them to build an ecommerce website. But if the website is for small business I would recommend Opencart. It is a small platform comparing Magento and have all the features.

If the website will have less products then I will suggest opencart. Opencart is the best option for a small & medium eCommerce website. It is a small platform comparing Magento.

You should have a look at PrestaShop aswell, it's free and easy to use and you can find a lot of allready made templates and themes.

Both OpenCart and Magento are great open source ecommerce options, but it depends very much on what you want your store to do. For larger stores, I would certainly recommend Magento more heavily, whilst OpenCart may be more suitable for getting a smaller business’ store off the ground more easily.
