A new business or an existing business which is need of page ranking should recognize the number of successful competitors and their rank in the corresponding field. The competitors could be suggested by the clients a digital marketing agency or the agency itself searches for the various competitors.
It is better to follow the second procedure as the first one may have a probable chance of missing some competitors. Some might recognize the business competitors in and around their area but they might not know about some online competitors.

This analysis provides both an offensive and defensive strategic context to identify opportunities and threats. Profiling coalesces all of the relevant sources of competitor analysis into one framework in the support of efficient and effective strategy formulation, implementation, monitoring and adjustment.[1]

Competitor analysis is an essential component of corporate strategy.[2] It is argued that most firms do not conduct this type of analysis systematically enough. Instead, many enterprises operate on what is called “informal impressions, conjectures, and intuition gained through the tidbits of information about competitors every manager continually receives.” As a result, traditional environmental scanning places many firms at risk of dangerous competitive blindspots due to a lack of robust competitor analysis.[3]

Proportion examination isn't simply looking at changed numbers from the accounting report, pay proclamation, and income articulation. It's contrasting the number against earlier years, different organizations, the industry, or even the economy as a rule. Proportions take a gander at the connections between individual values and relate them to how an organization has performed previously, and might perform later on.

A Competitor analysis is a critical part of your company marketing plan. With this evaluation, you can establish what makes your product or service unique--and therefore what attributes you play up in order to attract your target market.

Strategic technique used to evaluate outside competitors. The analysis seeks to identify weaknesses and strengths that a company's competitors may have, and then use that information to improve efforts within the company. An effective analysis will first obtain important information from competitors and then based on this information predict how the competitor will react under certain circumstances.
