How to decrease load time of website?

My website is taking too much time to load, bounce rate is being increase. It's not good SEO point of view. Please suggest me how to decrease load time of my website?

Reduce the size of your webpage/webpages, jquery,and extra plugins.
Avoid too big images on webpages
Go to Other Category in your webmaster tool and open Page speed insight. This will help you.

Agree with you Jane1 but also want to add some more points there...
1. Remove banners and larger images.
2. Check script and reduce as much as possible.
3. If redirection there then try to remove.
4. Ask your developer to use content rather then images and banners.

There are many ways use minimum plugin and always prefer JPEG images.
