In simple words.

Bounce Rate is the percentage of visitors that visit a page on your website and don’t visit any other pages. For example someone may come in to a page via a search engine and then go to another site without visiting any of your other pages.

The Exit Rate on the other hand is the percentage of people who have left the page but would have previously visited other pages. The figure is worked out by the percentage of visitors that leave your website from a page based on the number of visits to that page.

BOUNCE Rate is the percentage of visitors that hit your website on a given page and don’t visit any other pages on your site.
EXIT Rate is the percentage of visitors that leave your site from a given page based on the number of visits to that page.

For all pageviews to the page, Exit Rate is the percentage that were the last in the session. For all sessions that start with the page, Bounce Rate is the percentage that were the only one of the session. Bounce Rate for a page is based only on sessions that start with that page.

Bounce rate: Bounce rate is the percentage of the visitors visited the website and only looked at a single page before leaving your site, when a visitor bounces they do not visit any other pages on your site.
Exit rate: The exit rate does not take into consideration how many pages the visitor looked at,it only looks at the exit compared to the total exists.

Exit Rate: Always calculated even if they didn't start or end on the page. If they went from Page C in the last example to another page in your site then it is positive. If they left your site after visiting Page C then it is a negative. 50% of people in that example either visited another page, or exited the site through Page C. 2 for 2, out of a total of 4.

Bounce Rate: Only calculated if they entered the site on that page. Never calculated if they got to the page from another page on your site (the preceding page would get the bounce rate). So in the above example of Page C again. They only came in on Page C once and they exited after reading it. So it is 100% bounce.

Exit Rate is the percentage of visitors that leave your site from a given page based on the number of visits to that page.

The visitor who exits might have visited other pages on your site, but just exited on that specific page.
