Magento is considered to be better for SEO, but i think maybe its quite difficult to discover and use. Shopify is still good for SEO and it owns full of pro features for your site. I prefer Shopify :) If you are using Magento and wanna move, my recommendation is migrate Magento to Shopify (http://litextension.com/shopify-migration/magento-to-shopify-migration.html)

Shopify and Magento are two widely used ecommerce store creation and management platforms today. But Magento is a free open-source software. Both platforms offer extensive SEO capabilities in order to help you drive more organic traffic to your store via search engines, scoring almost powerful SEO features and benefits. Magento
Magento provides powerful SEO features like SEO friendly URLs, meta info (like Shopify,) a Google sitemap and a handy Google Content API for expanding on your SEO customization. Both solutions can integrate with Google Analytics.

No social media features are included, but you can integrate just about any app you want to make your site social friendly.

Shopify
Shopify has the basic essentials for SEO, with robots.txt and sitemap.xml files, Canonical URL tags, and editable meta descriptions, URLs and title tags. The setup for SEO is much cleaner, but it's not that hard at all with Magento.

Shopify wins by a slim margin in terms of social media, since you have access to product sales on Pinterest and Facebook. However, most other social media buttons and integrations require an app of some sort.

Selecting the most suitable ecommerce platform for creating, managing and maintaining an online store is of a critical importance, as it can be the factor responsible for either success or failure for your business. This is particularly important for a small business since it has to make do with limited resources and budgets.

As someone planning to create an online store or migrate your current store to another platform in the near future, you might be considering your options. Shopify and Magento Community Edition (aka Magento) are two widely acclaimed and used ecommerce store creation and management platforms today. There are, however, some huge fundamental differences between these platforms that you should be well aware of before making a comparative evaluation of the two:

In the article, you’ll get an in-depth comparison of the two CMSs and where both CMSs trump the other.

However, it all boils down to one contender taking the cake at the end of the day, and according to my calculations, observation, analysis, and experience, it’s Magento.

Although, I’ve mentioned the reasoning why I’ve chosen Magento, I can sum it up by saying it gives you more freedom and flexibility to grow beyond your goals.

Shopify, while being easy, will only take you so far.

Both have their respective pros and cons, but you don’t need to look too far to realize that most pros of Shopify are found in Magento.

Shopify Vs Magento: Which one is the best for SEO?

In terms of the themes available, Shopify can be a clear winner because it has a wider range of contemporary themes. This means that you do not need to compromise on design. Magento offers features which may simply take your store while this holds accurate. The one issue is that programming requires specialist help. Magento vs Shopify -- areas to consider? Could be your design customer-friendly in terms of navigation and finding products they are looking for? Deciding on a motif needs to be weighed against what you will get for what you are prepared to pay for into trade and could be the decision.

Both Shopify and Magento can deliver respectable SEO results, but your specific business goals and budget will determine which platform is ideal for your SEO requirements.

The user-friendly design of Shopify and its streamlined SEO features are well-known for helping you optimize your website for search engines. It also provides a sizable app market with solutions tailored specifically for SEO to assist you in your SEO efforts. Consider hiring a Shopify developer (https://www.biztechcs.com/hire-shopify-developer/) for your company.

The SEO of your website is more in your hands with Magento, as it is a platform that is more flexible and configurable. Additionally, it has strong SEO capabilities, such as the ability to create meta descriptions and URLs that are search engine friendly.
