Canonical tags are used to declare a single page as its own source or for duplicate pages to reference their source / originating page. Canonical tag is nothing url issue. If our website home page is available in more than one url and that is called canonical issue. So in that time we have to do url redirection using .htaccess file.

Canonical error is just 301, means the website open with or without www. It shows the 2 different URL with the same domain, which is not good for our website. It can solve by using the .htaccess code.

a site opening is both www & non www format is canonical error in your site. You can use 301 redirect to solve this issue.
