SEO (along with other things) are important to the hosting company's website. IP reputation is important (blacklist and other listings). Load speed is also a factor. But whether a hoster's website is optimized (provided they are not doing blackhat marketing) is not a factor. Our hosting website may not rank as high as others, but we host clients who consistently get a stream of traffic and come up as they ought to in their page ranking. If we were to leave my last statements out, then we ought to choose one company...the #1 hosting company.
