cPanel is just a control panel and this can be used in both normal hosting and in cloud based hosting. This is only an option.

Both are same but if Shared hosting use different panel other than cPanel then you will face various problem. CPanel is a automated control panel and provide automation with most of software like you can create FTP Account without manually configuring it. cPanel will do your job.

it depends on hosting provider, there are different control panels, custom, cpanel, plesk, vesta and many others. u usually can check the difference on the internet ;)
