Exact match domain is an algorithm update that was dispatched by Google in the year 2012. The motivation behind this update is to keep a few sites from getting rank in light of the fact that their domain names contain words that precisely coordinate the searched term. Each EMD update aims at filtering such sites and gives great positioning to the sites that have enhanced their content.

An exact match domain, or EMD, is a domain that is highly relevant to the content of your website and more specifically, exactly matches the keyword a person uses when searching for your content.
