In SEO, PR no longer exists. Now we have to focus on DA (Domain Authority) sites for creating backlinks.

Google already announce following statements.

Matt Cutts says he’d be surprised if PageRank was updated again.
Matt Cutts says the PageRank “pipeline” is broke, and Google isn’t interested in fixing it.

Their is no reason specified for this, so nothing to said about it.

Google is more concentrated in building their SERP and removing spam or bad websites from their results page. Therefore they have stopped updating their page rank algorithm and its of no value today.
