Cost per click can also mean the total cost accrued by the advertiser when the ad is clicked on, from just listing the ad to the additional cost of the click-through on the part of the visitor.

CPC stands for ‘Cost per Click’. You have to pay or you will earn whenever someone click on the ads. Google adsense is famous example of it. Google charged to their clients for every click they get on their ads and Google pay you whenever someone click on the ads running on your blog/ads.

Cost per click (CPC) is a method websites use to bill based on the number of times a visitor clicks on an advertisement. The alternative is cost per thousand (CPM), which is the number of impressions, or viewers, in thousands, regardless of whether each viewer clicks on the advertisement or not.

Cost-per click (CPC) refers to the actual price you're paying for each click in your pay-per-click marketing accounts. In CPC advertising, it is in the ad platform's best interest to optimize the amount of ads they serve to the price for each click they expect for each ad bid.

Cost-per click is important because it is the number that is going to determine the financial success of your paid search campaigns, and how much AdWords will cost for you.
Your return on investment, whether you're over- or underpaying for each action, will be determined by how much you are paying for clicks, and by what kind of quality you are getting for that investment.

Short for cost-per-click, an Internet marketing formula used to price online advertisements. Advertisers will pay Internet publishers based on the number of clicks a specific ad gets.

CPC is what you are actually charged for a click. In AdWords you might bid $1.00 for a keyword but when you ad is actually ranked and displayed you are only charged $.01 more than the ad ranked 1 position below you. If you are ranked in the 4th position maybe your CPC is only $.76 and it would take a bid of $1.01 to move up one position, which exceeds your $1.00 bid.

Pay-per-click (PPC), also known as cost per click (CPC), is an internet advertising model used to direct traffic to websites, in which an advertiser pays a publisher (typically a website owner or a network of websites) when the ad is clicked.

Pay-per-click is commonly associated with first-tier search engines (such as Google AdWords and Microsoft Bing Ads). With search engines, advertisers typically bid on keyword phrases relevant to their target market. In contrast, content sites commonly charge a fixed price per click rather than use a bidding system. PPC "display" advertisements, also known as "banner" ads, are shown on web sites with related content that have agreed to show ads and are typically not pay-per-click advertising. Social networks such as Facebook and Twitter have also adopted pay-per-click as one of their advertising models.
