A 301 is referred to as a permanent redirect and is used when the URL of the website changes. The entire link juice is passed onto the redirected page and so it is the most preferred redirection.

A 302 redirection is a temporary redirection and does not pass any link juice to the redirected page. This redirection is never recommended from the perspective of SEO

A 301 redirect means moved permanently, is a redirect that carries and distributes in an absolute manner. You should use a 301 to signify to the crawlers that your content has moved permanently.

A 302 status code means Found, or more commonly referred to as “temporarily moved.” This redirect doesn’t carry or pass the link value to the new location. What it does do is get the user to an appropriate location for you so that you aren’t showing them a broken link, a 404 page not found, or an error page.

301 redirect is the most efficient and Search Engine Friendly method for webpage redirection. It's not that hard to implement and it should preserve your search engine rankings for that particular page. If you have to change file names or move pages around, it's the safest option. The code "301" is interpreted as "moved permanently".

A 302 redirect is a temporary redirect. There are very few instances where this type of redirect should be used, but unfortunately it is the easiest to implement. This means that many webmasters unfamiliar with search engine mechanics use the wrong type of redirect.

302 redirect is a “temporary move” of content. This redirect lets the search engine know that any URL value should remain with the old page. It will still move along your traffic but this is not what you want if you moved content to a new home.

301 Moved Permanently
The requested resource has been assigned a new permanent URL

302 Found
The requested resource resides temporarily under a different URI. Since the redirection might be altered on occasion, the client SHOULD continue to use the Request-URL for future requests.

A 301 redirect is a permanent redirect which passes between 90-99% of link juice (ranking power) to the redirected page. 301 refers to the HTTP status code for this type of redirect. In most instances, the 301 redirect is the best method for implementing redirects on a website.
A 302 redirect is a temporary movement or website url is temporary moved.

A 301, or permanently moved, is a redirect that alerts the crawlers that your content has moved permanently.

A 302, or "Found"/temporarily moved, is a redirect that alerts the crawlers that your content has moved temporarily (that is, it may come back later, like when you have it back in stock).
