The way professionals do it
Open Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal.
Find where the .sh file. Use the ls and cd commands. ls will list the files and folders in the current folder. Give it a try: type "ls" and press Enter. ...
Run the .sh file. Once you can see for example script1.sh with ls run this: ./script.sh.

To run the script, open a document in InDesign, then open the Scripts panel (see above) and double-click the script name.

Programs with dockable/embeddable UI's are set up in the ScriptUI Sections directory and run from the Screen selection in After Results. Most scripts here have dockable panels.

You can run the scripts using the online terminal that is using command line. The Linux terminal has the .sh scripts while Windows system has the .ps scripts.
On Windows server, you can directly run those .ps files. You can use the UI too to run the scripts. Scripts without a UI are installed in the Scripts folder and run from the File->Scripts menu.
