Title tag is the crucial part of any ON PAGE of a website. It must be in between 55 to 60 characters. Violating the rules of Google algorithms would result in losing the ranking of your website instantly without being intimating you about it. It helps to rank your website in those keywords in which you are focusing and doing link building.

I try to keep it under 50 characters and include the keyword phrase you are optimizing the page for at the beginning of the title tag.

Hi,

Optimal Length for Search Engines. Google typically displays the first 50-60 characters of a title tag, or as many characters as will fit into a 512-pixel display. If you keep your titles under 55 characters, you can expect at least 95% of your titles to display properly.

Based on Google SERPs, title tag and meta description character limits have decreased 21% and 23%, respectively. Now it is 55 characters (including spaces) for title tags and 115 characters (including spaces) for meta descriptions.

Titles in search results may be rewritten to match your brand, the user query, or other considerations.
