SEO is still a good career choice, but I'm not sure it's not what someone would want to do exclusively. SEO should be the skill you have as a sliver of a larger skill-set - if you're doing SEO primarily, you likely are working for an extremely large company. And if that company went kaput, your skills would not fit well into many other companies

Yes, SEO is a good career choice, but if you are just thinking to start with it or have already started than I will suggest you to start as a Digital Marketing Executive. As Digital Marketing is inclusive of SEO, SMO, PPC. As an SEO yes you will have great start, but later you will get stuck in your career as more preference is given to the candidate who is also expert in Social Media, Adwords and not only in SEO.
