There are various factors, which contribute to higher bounce rate like, page loading speed, quality of content, type of audience reading your content, etc.

If you are sharing duplicate content than why your audience will like to read the information, about which they already read some where else. Also if Title of your page is different with what information your page serves, there are chances of high bounce rate. If your content is not reacing to your target audience and read by some other community members, who are not keen to read about your topic, bounce rate will increase.

So how will you reduce your website bounce rate?

Improve page loading speed, promoting your content to your target audience, writing something about which your target audience wants to read and not something about which they already know.

Few tips for decreasing bounce rate of your website-
Update your outdated content
Don’t use a popup
Write shorter & effective paragraphs
Translate your site for international traffic
Make your site search more prominent
Make your 404 page more useful
Improve your page loading speed
Make your website mobile responsive.

If your website design is not very well obviously user dislike your web site. so please dislike your site.
and contest is also very user friendly and engaging, that user stay and read your web site. these two things are more important.
