Yes keyword density helps in SEO. But don't try to add the keywords with commas, it will be badly treated by the search engines. Try to make the content which have good meaning so that it really helps the people who visits your website.

Of course it is important however keep in mind the content in your web site must be prepared for people and not search engines. If you repeat the keywords too many times you may be penalized by google.

Yes, Keyword density is very important right now. we need to maintain 2% to 3% of keyword density for improving keyword ranking. If you can use more it's become keyword stuffing and effects the website ranking.

Rather than stuffing keywords in the text make sure that the text is easy to read, use synonyms - google recognizes them :)

Search engines have become more sophisticated, they have started putting far less emphasis on specific keywords, and more emphasis on the meaning or intent behind those keywords.

Not at all. Google Hummingbird took the focus away from keyword density.

You can create your primary keyword just once or twice and then focus on synonyms and semantics (related words).

For example, if jogging shoes are your primary keyword, remember to also build in related words such as sports shoes, (brand name) jogging shoes, (brand name) sports shoes, jogging gear, best shoes for jogging, etc.
