Is it possible to automatically convert videos while uploading to server ??

Uploading videos into our server via ftp (most of them are .mp4 files and not all of them works correctly for all users & browsers).

Converting video is a very heavy process which uses a lot of time and CPU power. It’s outside the reach of most web servers, which don’t have quite that much power to spare.

What you’re asking is possible, but highly specialized and probably more expensive than you’re willing to do. The best solution is to convert the videos to the correct formats before you upload them, or use a video hosting service instead of hosting those large video files yourself. Video conversion and hosting is a specialized set of functionality, not usually free.

I'm pretty sure you can get ffmpeg to auto-encode all new files, uploaded to a certain folder, in a streaming-friendy format.
