Website Design Is the website based on a modern or an outdated platform? A modern platform (like WordPress) is fast, more secure, easier to optimize and more flexible when it comes to design. Besides the platform one of the things you need to decide in advance is whether you will keep or change the current design of a website.

Because we have so much programming operating down in our blood vessels, we believe we can do a really awesome job of web page and cellular app growth even while we are sleepwalking.

I'm not a website designer, I just love to learn everything, especially code and graphics. One of the things that I like and want to learn, as well as the desire to have a little ability about it, is the web design.

website design means planning, creation and updating of websites. Website design also involves information architecture, website structure, user interface, navigation ergonomics, website layout, colors, contrasts, fonts and imagery (photography) as well as icons design.

A modern platform like WordPress offers a lot of flexibility, security, and optimization options. Deciding whether to keep or change the design depends on the current website's goals. If the existing design still aligns with the brand and user needs, it might just need a few updates. But if the design feels outdated or doesn't support modern features (like mobile responsiveness), it’s worth considering a redesign. The platform should also be able to scale as the site grows, so flexibility is key!

Website design starts with choosing the right platform. Modern platforms like WordPress are faster, more secure, easier to optimize, and offer greater flexibility in design. Another key decision is whether to keep the existing website design or update it to better meet current needs and trends.

From my experience working in a UX UI design agency, the platform choice is only part of the equation. Modern systems like WordPress or headless setups definitely give better performance, security, and flexibility, but they don’t automatically solve usability issues.
What I usually focus on first is whether the current design actually supports user goals. Even a modern platform can underperform if the information architecture, navigation, or visual hierarchy is outdated. In most projects, I’ve seen better results when we evaluate platform and UX design together instead of treating them separately.

Choosing a modern platform like WordPress is usually beneficial because it offers better security, flexibility, performance, and easier optimization. Before redesigning, it’s important to evaluate whether the current design still meets user needs and branding goals or if a refreshed layout would improve usability and engagement.

The design of websites refers to the planning and implementation of the layout of web pages. The design of websites does not simply deal with how a website looks but rather with how users can easily find the information on the website and navigate through its various pages.
The design of a website usually covers a number of aspects, which include the following:
Layout and Structure
It refers to how information is organized on the page. Good layout makes it easier for the users to understand the subject matter of the website.
2. User Experience (UX)
UX is responsible for ensuring that the website is user-friendly. This involves the ease of navigation and readability.
3. User Interface (UI)
The focus of UI is on the visual aspects such as colors, icons, typography, white space, and images. Consistency in the UI makes a website look more professional.
4. Responsiveness
It is important for the current websites to be responsive and compatible with all the devices such as desktops, tablets, and smartphones.
5. Performance and Speed
A well-designed website should take performance and speed into consideration. Slow loading speed caused by large images, inefficient code, and too many scripts not only diminishes the user experience but negatively impacts the website's ranking in search engines.
Popular tools for website design
Figma / Adobe XD – for UI/UX design, wireframing, and prototyping
Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator – for designing graphics and working with images
WordPress – to create websites without much coding
Webflow – to design visually and get clean code at the end of the process
Visual Studio Code – to code HTML, CSS, and JavaScript manually when necessary
In professional website design, designers usually begin with wireframes and mockups before starting the actual development process.
Website design requires balancing creativity and functionality. It is nice to have an attractive design, but usability, performance, and accessibility matter more in terms of users' engagement and satisfaction.
