In general, short domain names are considered the best, especially those ending in .com. Domains that contain popular keywords are also valuable, and popular domain names will inevitably be re-registered.

Really as long as the keyword is in the domain, it's going to give you a boost in the beginning for your ranking. After that though, it's not going to do much compared to proper SEO

You should buy domains with keywords ( for SEO ) and expired domains, this is prefer for ranking google.
If you buy expired domains, you should check DA, PA, TF, CF and spam score before buying.

A good domain name plays a vital role in SEO. If we select a good keyword for a domain name then it will surely bring a good traffic for our site. And the main thing is while selecting a domain name, we should select a proper keyword which will be easily remembered by our target audience as well. 1. Make sure you will choose the domain name related to your site. That is if you would like to create the site related to games then from it's name, end-user should get the purpose of the site.

2. Make sure to choose the domain extension carefully, If you are developing the educational site then the extension should be .edu so it will clarify the use of your website.

3. You can use country specific extensions too.

4. Use the top rated keywords while assigning name to your website so it will help you to rank your website in SEO.

5. Domain name should be short and sweet, easy to remember. It should be easy to remember and catchy. I would suggest it should not be more than 20 o 25 characters. Because visitor should remember the name of your website easily. If it's too lengthy then no one remember it and as a result, no visitors, no money. Make sure it convey the purpose of your website.

Domain name popularity depends on factors like visitors, alexa, design, architecture, contents on the website , images and number of links pointing to your website, social site linking. You will need to review the all links connected to your website. You should remove the bad links that is spam links. Internal linking should be proper.

Your domain name should be your brand name, because that will become your most influential factor in having a high-ranking website. ... Google and search engines will learn to associate your brand name with your keywords as your brand grows in popularity and as you continue to produce content.

Google stopped favoring keyword specific Domains due to the rampant abuse that was taking place. Now you are better off creating a brandable domain name rather than a keyword chain domain. People will remember your brand much more so than a bunch of keywords
Keywords should be used for your content. Even if you own an e-commerce website supporting blog posts with the proper keywords are very important.

So, the question has to be asked: how do domain names affect your SEO efforts. ... Online ads and paid search also work well together with a good domain name. ... From what we can tell, Google won't hurt you for including keywords in the domain name because it can easily spot any spammy signals around the domain.

You should only use a keyword if it makes your domain name more intuitive. For example, if you sell watches, you might want to consider a domain name like BobsWatches.com as it tells users your brand name as well as what your business is about.

A keyword in a domain name will not help a website rank for that keyword, says Google's John Mueller. Google's John Mueller advises SEOs and site owners there's no ranking benefit associated with having keywords in a domain name.

Following best practices for a domain name is necessary. Like, not having hyphens or numbers in between. Choosing a simpler and easier to pronounce domain name. Ensuring that it is unique and not taken or not close to other domain names. All this is fine.

But choosing a domain name solely for SEO purposes beats the point of having a domain name.

A domain name is your business' identity. But if you choose a domain name based on a keyword, it will take away the essence of your business.

Do you think amazon chose their domain name because of keywords? Fun fact is that amazon before becoming the same had registered for relentless.com as their domain name, and there wasn't any specific voume for this keyword i.e. relentless. So, it doesn't make sense to have a domain name that is based on keyword.

If there is a keyword that has high volume and suits your brand name or coincidentally is the same, then maybe, perhaps it works.

To be honest keywords and domain names should not be used together to get traffic to the website. If you have a good product, promote it and do a proper SEO around it.

In case, you are a category where the keyword volume for a particular keyword is high, for.eg. buy groceries has 50,000 volume per month, and if you are a grocery store that wants to name yourself buygrocery.com, then perhaps it can benefit you in your search results.

WIth that being said, anyone having a stronger SEO game is most likely to win in this case too than merely having a domain name with high volume for SEO.

So finally my advise would be just focus on your SEO and work around your domain name based on your company or brand's name. Its better that way. Choose options for domain names with BigRock because they have a a great variety for domains.

Branded domain names don't contain any keywords, and they usually use the company name. WordPress.com and Amazon.com are considered branded domains. When SEO first made headlines, using keyword domains offered a quick and easy way to rank highly on Google search.
