Keyword density is that search engines use this information to categorize a site's theme and to determine which terms the site is relevant to. The perfect keyword density will help achieve higher search engine positions. Keyword density needs to be balanced correctly.My advice that try to include your keywords without worrying about the 3 to 4% keyword density.

In terms of SEO, Keyword density is the total number of targeted keyword appears in web page comparison to a total number of word in the web page. through a google guidelines, we can use up to 4 to 5% of a keyword in the web page. we can find keyword density to using this formula

(total number of target keyword) / (toal number of word in webpage) * 100

For Example:-

Suppose We write a 200 word content in a web page, and in this content, targeted keyword is 8. using formula,

8(target keyword) / 200(total number of word) * 100

= 4. That means in the content 4% of a keyword is used.

If We are writing repeat and overuse keyword on the web page then penalized by Google or reduce page ranking, so we need to balance keyword density.

Formula for “Keyword Density” = (Number of times the keyword repeats in the article / Total number of words in the article)*100

Keyword density is a percentage of time a keyword visible on the content. Keyword density is must be at 4% to 5%. If you use keywords more than this ratio then your site will be penalized through the Google Panda algorithm.

Formula to calculate keyword density: - keyword/words * 100

For example, If you 6 time repeate the keyword in the 200 word then you can calculate this as,
6/200 * 100 = 3%.
