301 redirects are permanent. They tell a search engine that the page has moved - probably because a redesign which uses different pages names or file structures

The best reason to use a 302 redirect is to keep your ugly URLs from being indexed permanently by search engines. For example, if your site is built by a database, you might redirect your homepage from a URL

302 redirect is a “temporary move” of content. This redirect lets the search engine know that any URL value should remain with the old page. It will still move along your traffic but this is not what you want if you moved content to a new home.

A 301 redirect is a permanent redirect which passes between 90-99% of link juice (ranking power) to the redirected page. 301 refers to the HTTP status code for this type of redirect. In most instances, the 301 redirect is the best method for implementing redirects on a website.

301 redirect is the most efficient and Search Engine Friendly method for webpage redirection. It's not that hard to implement and it should preserve your search engine rankings for that particular page. If you have to change file names or move pages around, it's the safest option. The code "301" is interpreted as "moved permanently".

A 302 redirect means that the move is only temporary. Search engines need to figure out whether to keep the old page, or replace it with the one found at the new location.

301 is a permanent moved is a redirect that carries and distributes in an absolute manner. You should use a 301 to signify to the crawlers that your content has moved permanently.
302 is a temporarily moved This redirect doesn't carry or pass the link value to the new location.

Hi
A 301 redirect means that the page has permanently moved to a new location. A 302 redirect means that the move is only temporary. Search engines need to figure out whether to keep the old page, or replace it with the one found at the new location

301 and 302 are the HTTP response codes.

When you would like to add the permanent redirect then you use the 301 type of redirect. Search engine considers only this type of redirect while ranking. That is why it is recommended for the SEO.

If some contents on your website are moved or removed temporarily, in that case you can use the 302 type of redirection. For example, your website is for selling the seasonal goods, that time you can remove or move the other goods which are not useful in current season. Web crawler will not consider the 302 type of redirect.

A 301 redirect tells the search engine that the page has moved permanently to the new URL. A 302 redirect tells the search engine that the move is only temporary, earch engines handle 301 redirects the same but Search engines handle 302 redirects very differently thats why i think 301 redirect is better.

In SEO, 301 redirection is used to place a website to new location but permanently while 302 redirection is used to place a website to new location but temporary.
