It is an internet marketing term which is used for website traffic Analysis. It represents the percentage of visitors visiting your website and leaving (bouncing ) your site after staying for some time or immediately.

If your Bounce rate is on the higher side then it is a problematic situation for you it means that visitor visits your website and due to some reasons he is not happy with your website and immediately clicks on the back button.

Lower the bounce rate better is the performance of the website.

100% bounce rate means that visitor comes to your website and within seconds bounces or leaves your website. 40-50% is considered to be a good bounce rate.

A bounce is a single-page session on your site. In Analytics, a bounce is calculated specifically as a session that triggers only a single request to the Analytics server, such as when a user opens a single page on your site and then exits without triggering any other requests to the Analytics server during that session.

Bounce rate is single-page sessions divided by all sessions or the percentage of all sessions on your site in which users viewed only a single page and triggered only a single request to the Analytics server.

If the visitor just visits the single page on site and did not access the other pages that time it is called bounce rate.

This might be case that visitor has bookmarked the link or means that contents on your website are engaging him and are quality contents.
He may have got the required information from home page only that is why he has not checked the other pages.

But as he did not accessed it more, it is consider as bounce. Bounce rate should always be low.

A bounce rate is a Digtal Marketing term which tells you about how users interacted with your website. If the user comes on your website and bounces back (leaves) it immediately then it is something to worry about.

Bounce rate goes uptill 100%. If your bounce rate is 100% it means that users don’t even stay on your website for one or two second. If your website’s bounce rate is 5% then it means that visitors like your website and it is good for your website.

Ideally your website’s bounce rate should be as low as possible. Ideally 50% bounce rate is good enough. But if it somehwere like 95% then you need to take efforts and try to reduce it.

You can check Bounce Rate in Google Analytics Interface.
