Can you please elaborate? What is the exact error message? Is it 404 page not found or is it something else? Have you checked the error logs for it?

If you use the MonsterInsights plugin, it’ll automatically tag your 404 pages for you. So then, if you go into your Google Analytics account and go to Behavior → Site Content → Content Drilldown and search for “404.html”, you’ll find a ton of info about your 404s (click for larger version):

I suggest to use the smallest amount of plugins possible because when you have lots of plugins, you never know what can happen after updating them. Be aware, that plugins can do everything on your website.

Go or subscribe to google webmaster tools and wait for the 404 to appear in Crawling errors. If it does not appear it means that Googlebot isn't aware of it.

Case 1:
Do you mean, there are lots of links to not existing pages in your pages and posts?
If you want to mass edit them, go to mysql and replace url in your WP_posts table.

Case 2:
If you deleted 9K pages. That's ok, let Google forgets them, that's the best you can do. Big online shops have to deal with many 404 pages too. Don't use 301 redirects.
