Hi all. We want a freestanding tub in our bathroom remodel but worry it's more for photos than for real life. My wife loves baths, I'm more of a quick-shower guy, so we're negotiating. Did anyone put one in and actually use it?
Hi. We did, and I use it more than I expected. Alta's Seattle Bathroom Remodeling designers helped us place it under the window with a floor-mounted filler, and we made sure the floor could handle the weight when it's full. It's the best part of my evening now. My wife uses it every night, and even I've started taking the occasional soak. Honestly, freestanding tubs are harder to clean around, so leave space behind them. If you're a shower person, it probably won't get used, but for us it was a keeper.
