I have run some tests and I see that my sites hosted on godaddy have an Average Speed per KB of 0.44 seconds while sites hosted on hostgator have an average of 0.03 seconds. There is a considerable difference between them. I want to move away from godaddy but I need to know if this is how hostgator works by default or is something temporary. Thanks!

They are both EIG hosts. I would suggest staying away from them, and going for a more reputable/smaller company. (Don't be fooled by their offers. )
Either go for Hosting raja, that is more reliable and speed compared to them.

I have used Go Daddy for almost 6 years. I have only began used Caro.net for the past few months. I would like to recommend for you to try them.
I would personally suggest HostGator. Because it is the best web hosting service than GoDaddy.
I also think hostgator is faster.
Both companies have both positive and negative reviews.
