Both are good digital design software. It is up to the graphic designer on what software he would use for a particular logo design project.
Photoshop is the best, If you're not good at photoshop, I recommend using Xara 3D

Fireworks or Photoshop
I love to use Photoshop and sometimes Illustrator. The trick is knowing how to use the pen tool really. Master using it and you will be able to do great vector work no matter which one you use. Of course you still need to have a keen eye for design!
I think you will find Photoshop does a better job than the Corel programs. The only exception is the control you get with Painter for colors and effects. I have not found one program that surpasses painter in that regard. Other than that you can not go wrong with the masterful program that is Photoshop as it is truly awesome!
In my view Coral is a good software for logo design.
Well actually I have designed every logo so far with Photoshop mostly and tried one or two others such as Coral or Fireworks but to my mind Photoshop is the best to recommend. It has the best feature available and if you dig deeper into the material of Photoshop and improve your skills you have a lot of opportunities to create the best possible logo if you have a good idea.

I definitely think that Photoshop is the best and that you will be happy if you put your time and resources into learning how to use the program. There are so many tutorials available so finding the information is not hard.
I suggest u photoshop ,adobe illustrator these are the best !! if ur having no idea of using this then u may go to google and watch for logo design tutorial of photoshop or illustrator GL .

Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator both are really good designing software for Web. but if you want to make it for printing only then you should to Use Coral which is best for Printing.

For Vector-based graphics software I like to suggest adobe illustrator and Corel DRAW.
I will suggest for photoshop and Coral . Both are good Software for logo Design.I am also using latest version of photoshop for my logo project
If you want to design website logo then photoshop is only the best tool for that because it contains various tools for design any kind of logo using your creative ideas.
