What is the difference between Windows Hosting Vs Linux Hosting? Which is the best one for business?
Linux is an open source system that supports a wide range of software, applications, languages, and databases such as PHP, Perl, MySQL and many others making it very scalable. On the downside, Linux is not fully compatible with most of the Microsoft technologies so if you are using Access, ASP, MS SQL, or VB development tools then Windows is better.
The main "advantage" or distinction of Windows servers is that they can run Microsoft software such as Access and MS SQL databases. Windows servers also offer web developers the use of Microsoft's programming environments such as Active Server Pages (ASP), Visual Basic Scripts, MS Index Server.
Users can develop web site using the familiar interface of Microsoft tools such as, Visual Interdev, and Microsoft Access. With ASP users can develop a database-driven web site using Microsoft Access and Microsoft SQL as the database.

As Heshan already pointed out -- what counts for you as a user is if you need to use Access, ASP, MS SQL, or if e.g. MySQL will work instead of MS SQL. In general, only Microsoft applications, here not all either, need those mentioned data bases, while the very large majority of scripts on the market will use MySQL, for example.

Good explanation.
The main reason for our customers to choose or not to choose Windows (but by now we stopped Windows plans all together) is the use of Access and MS SQL databases. If a customers does not need to use either one, but can go with MySQL, then there is no need for the expensive and more easy to hack Windows server, then Linux is what works best.

Web hosting is a place where people store their websites, Web Applications, Backup files, Database, and more.
More often than not, the term “web hosting” refers to the company that rent out their computer/servers to store your website (hence the word, host) and providing Internet connectivity so that other computers can access to the files on your website.
Web hosting is an administration that enables associations and people to post a site or site page onto the Internet. A web host, or web facilitating specialist organization, is a business that gives the advancements and administrations required for the site or site page to be seen in the Internet. Sites are facilitated, or put away, on extraordinary PCs called servers.
At the point when Internet clients need to see your site, they should simply sort your site address or area into their program. Their PC will then associate with your server and your pages will be conveyed to them through the program.
The choice of OS mainly depends on the apps you are planning to host.

Web hosting is a service that allows organizations and individuals to post a website or web page onto the Internet. A web host, or web hosting service provider, is a business that provides the technologies and services needed for the website or webpage to be viewed in the Internet. Websites are hosted, or stored, on special computers called servers.
Most web hosting service providers offer two kinds of hosting: Linux hosting and Windows hosting. In general, Linux hosting refers to shared hosting, the most popular hosting service in the industry. In fact, most of the websites are now hosted using Linux hosting due to its affordable price and flexibility. Linux hosting is compatible with PHP and MySQL, which supports scripts such as WordPress, Zen Cart, and phpBB. Windows hosting, on the other hand, uses Windows as the servers' operating system and offers Windows-specific technologies such as ASP, .NET, Microsoft Access and Microsoft SQL server (MSSQL).
The main difference is the operating system which is responsible for executing scripts and databases. In other words: Linux and Windows are using different script and database languages. So you should think in advance if you need special Windows script languages. When there's no need for ASP. VBScript or MSSQL, Linux is the OS of choice. By the way, it doesn't matter if your computer runs on Windows, because all computers are able to communicate with Linux or Windows servers.
It's impossible to make a general recommendation because your choice depends on the requirements of your hosting or website project. But Linux has the advantage of working on 70% of webservers worldwide, so that might be a minor advantage.
