Secondly, make it easy to pronounce and mostly, easy to remember. Branding is best when recalled :)
Thirdly, acoud hyphens, and double letters. Keep it short.
Finally, ensure that the domain name is protected. With basics like SSL certificate, Digital certificates, SiteLock and codeguard etc. I as a web dev prefer getting it from BigRock for my clientele.
And yes, use a TLD that suits your business/category. A .COM is not the be all and end all of everything. :)
