404 error message is received when the file requested by the client in the server is not found in the server. It means that the file/web page you need is not present in the server at the moment and is moved somewhere else or even when the requested server is also not present.For every HTTP(hyper text transfer protocol) request made by a web browser, the server to which request is made is required to response by providing a numeric response code. This codes which also include the error codes are made by the HTTP committee and is the global standard code. The code is a 3 digit code of which each digit has a meaning. The leftmost digit means a client problem such as mistyped url.
it means that although the server is reachable, the specific page you're looking for is not. Essentially, it's a page that doesn’t exist or it's broken. The 404 error code can appear in any browser, regardless if you're using Google Chrome or Mozilla.
