What is robots.txt? Robots.txt is a text file webmasters create to instruct web robots (typically search engine robots) how to crawl pages on their website. Robots.txt is the actual text file. It decides the whole site crawl behaviour. While meta robot tag decides the crawl behaviour of only single page. If you want something deindexed then go with the robots meta tag, but make sure you allow crawling of the URLs to give search engine bots an opportunity to see the tag.

Robot.txt will have the disallow rule which disallow the whole section of the website while Meta tag can be used to disallow a single page.

The purpose of a robots.txt file, also known as the robots exclusion protocol, is to give webmasters control over what pages robots can crawl and index on their site. But if we use robots tag, we can ask search engine crawlers not to index this page.

Robots.txt is better. It is a text file that lists webpages which contain instructions for search engines robots. The file lists webpages that are allowed and disallowed from search engine crawling.

Google Pixel 2 vs. iPhone X and iPhone 8 vs. Samsung Galaxy: Which is better? ... Google has just announced the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, and it seems like they're better in every way. But how do they stack up to the top phones on the market like the iPhone 8, iPhone X, Samsung Galaxy S8, and the Galaxy Note 8?

robots.txt file is a publicly available file. Anyone can see what sections of your server you don't want robots to use. The Meta tag option tells bots not to index individual files, whereas Robots.txt can be used to restrict access to entire directories. Both are supported by all crawlers.

Robots.txt is better. It is a content document that rundowns site pages which contain guidelines for web indexes robots. The record records website pages that are permitted and prohibited from web index slithering.

Robots. txt files are best for disallowing a whole section of a site, such as a category whereas a meta tag is more efficient at disallowing single files and pages. You could choose to use both a meta robots tag and a robots.

It's safer for Robots.txt. It's a text file listing web pages with search engine robots instructions. The file lists webpages that are allowed and disallowed from search engine crawling.
