SSL certificates come free as they’re issued by non-profit certificate authorities. Resellers provide SSL/TLS certificates for free. Their purpose is to encrypt the entire web to the extent that HTTPS becomes the norm.

Advantages of using free SSL Certificate:

SSL Certificate secure website in few minutes.
SSL Certificate is trusted by all the browsers
On the off chance that your site is verified with SSL testament and web URL begins with a protected HTTPS convention, at that point, you will get the positioning bit of leeway in web crawlers.
Transactions on the website are secure.
    SSL Certificate built trust.

As far as the level of encryption is concerned, a free SSL certificate provides the same level of encryption as a paid one.

Free SSL has many benefits, you don't have to spend some extra money on it and it is also much easier to set up. But if your website is competitive or you think you need a secure website with some trusted tag then you can go for the paid one to secure your business website with some added options.

Absolutely okay to use free SSL. Just ask them about the terms and conditions. When I got free SSL from ResellerClub for their cloud hosting plan. Also suggested this to my clients later on. There is no issue at all. Please ask your support how to go about it and what is the time till the certificate gets approved after application.

Free SSL Certificate is for domain validated so you cant use them to protect your E-Commerce website. As it is for domain validated SSL it will a big question for users to share information with you. Free SSLs aimed to protect small/medium scale websites, so you can't use them to protect large scale websites.

Yeah, some certificates are better then others but majority offer the same encryption as the Letencrypt free SSL.
