Semantic HTML is the use of HTML markup to reinforce the semantics, or meaning, of the information in webpages and web applications rather than merely to define its presentation or look. Semantic HTML is processed by traditional web browsers as well as by many other user agents.

Semantic HTML or semantic markup is HTML that introduces meaning to the web page rather than just presentation. For example, a
tag indicates that the enclosed text is a paragraph. This is both semantic and presentational, because people know what paragraphs are and browsers know how to display them.

Semantics is the study of language meaning. For language this is the words we use to communicate, and for HTML it's the tags we use to mark a document. For example, a
tag indicates a paragraph. This tag is semantic and presentational because people know what paragraphs are and browsers know how to display them.

Semantic HTML Is a coding style where the tags embody what the text is meant to convey. In Semantic HTML tags like for bold, and for italic should not be used, reason being they just represent formatting, and provide no indication of meaning or structure.

The semantically correct thing to do is use and . These tags will have the same bold effects while demonstrating meaning and structure.

Semantics HTML is not a just like a normal presentation but it gives a introduction of meaning to the web page .

Semantic elements = elements with a meaning.

Semantic HTML refers to the idea that all your HTML markup should convey the underlying meaning of your contentónot its appearance. Weíve already been writing semantic HTML (e.g., using instead of ), but thereís a whole set of elements designed for the sole purpose of adding more meaning to the overall layout of a web page.
