Top-level domain (TLD) refers to the last segment of a domain name, or the part that follows immediately after the "dot" symbol. TLDs are mainly classified into two categories: generic TLDs and country-specific TLDs. Examples of some of the popular TLDs include .com, .org, .net, .gov, .biz and .edu.

A top-level domain (TLD) is the last segment of the domain name. The TLD is the letters immediately following the final dot in an Internet address.

The top-level domain (TLD), sometimes called the internet domain extension, is the very last section of an internet domain name, located after the last dot, to help form a fully qualified domain name (FQDN).

Folk have been arguing for a while about which is the best TLD for SEO, and the SEO benefits, or not, of new gTLDs, arguing that some TLDs rank better than others. Google has a lot of experience in returning relevant web pages, regardless of the top-level domain (TLD).

A TLD (top-level domain), also referred to as a domain extension, is simply the letters that appear at the end of a domain name. For example, in the domain name .com would be the TLD.
