Meme Accounts being Plurged by Instagram

Instagram is cracking down on accounts that primarily post memes, deleting popular pages that have amassed millions of followers.

Dozens of accounts with over 30 million followers combined were deleted without warning. The removal is permanent, meaning there’s no hope for the users to get their accounts restored.

this was long expected since these account have amassed millions of followers they started earning money monthly from sponsored posts. this does not bode well for instagram whose primary revenue is advertisement.

I know that Instagram takes down a kit of meme accounts that post original memes or good memes. I also lost an account of 50k followers and I am very sad about that... So, I moved to watching memes online, I like to find different websites with random memes, like this awesome iphone versus android memes. These 20 plus memes are really funny and well made. I like how this website shares a lot of useful information including funny memes. Not many websites do this. But those that do it, are awesome.

Instagram seems to have purged most of the top meme accounts on the platform. On Thursday and Friday, reports that meme accounts with follower counts in the hundreds of thousands and even millions were being permanently banned for violating the platform's terms of service. In total, according to a user who ran "@spicy.

I know what are you talking about. I feel the pain of deleted accounts.

oh no my memes ((( I think sometimes Instagram deletes profiles with offensive or inappropriate content. Or sometimes admins delete accounts where account owners bought subscribers for example on pages like this. I would be heartbroken if my account with an audience of thousands decided to permanently delete. I hope this will not happen again, or at least I hope there will be an opportunity to appeal this decision. Maybe instagram now has a different policy about accounts with memes, who knows

Well, despite the fact it really sounds stupid, it is 100 percent true, it is not in their interest, as more people start gaining money out of their social network, the other accounts that they are protecting, aren't anymore so ''uninque''. The more accounts get tons of followers, the more people start earning money out of it, so then why would it not be in the benefit of instagram? Well, i don't know the exact answer, but it is a fact, every single account that gets popular really quick, gets down pretty soon. I am not sure if there is any kind of legal issue in this case, and if you could do something from the legal point of view, however i think you could get a consultation from a lawyer and see how is it all done. My brother is learning law right now, and he told me that the question he is getting asked the most usual is how do you deal with sextortion. Pretty strange, so he told me that he is not really sure, but there must be a kind of legal side in this case.

Why would you respond to the original post with a word for word verbatim repeat of the same thing?
