Collocated hosting is similar to a dedicated server where the server is rented out to the user. In Collocated hosting, Once you have a machine set up, you take it to the location of the colocation provider and install it in their rack.

Collocated web hosting also means colocation web hosting. It will allow you to place your server & share datacenter bandwidth as your own. With colocation server hosting, you are allowed to place your server which could be your business server machine with a professional hosting provider. They will allow you to place your server machine in a rack hosted at their data center. For this, they will charge you for the service & maintenance & most importantly for allocating bandwidth. You will have full control over your server & use it as you want.

Colocation is a hosting option for small businesses who want the features of a large IT department without the costs. Many large corporations have the Internet infrastructure to host their own web servers and have a team of IT professionals to manage and design the site, individuals and small companies do not. There is a wide range of options available from simple hosting up to running your own Web servers off of a dedicated Internet connection.

    One such option is colocation.

Co-location - Most of the time hosting companies pay for Co-location. Hosting companies pay for co-location and rent a space, power, bandwidth etc. And then they co-locate their hardware and sell hosting services. Other companies can also purchase Co-location service.

Few parameters which are important while purchasing Co-location-

    Power
    Bandwidth
    ISPs
    IPs
    Power backup facility

    Regards,

A colocation or collocated hosting is a data center facility in which a business can rent space for servers and other computing hardware.

Colocation hosting is similar to dedicated hosting, with one notable exception.

In dedicated hosting, customers rent servers as well as the infrastructure needed to house and maintain them. In colocation hosting, companies own their own hardware, but are looking to augment its usefulness by renting server space in a data center, which provides benefits like improved Internet bandwidth, server cooling systems and climate control, and reliable power. Colocation hosting can be compared to owning a boat and renting a berth for it at the closest port of call.

Colocation hosting is a lower-cost server hosting strategy using a provider's high-speed 24/7 internet services, excellent operational security, superior availability and long-term stability while using the customer's current server inventory.

Well, this is a little bit tricky, but I will try to describe this in the easiest way. These days is very hard to find a hosting service for your website as most of them does not know how a hosting server should work. In most of the cases you will get a lot of errors and the server will stop working twice per day and other issues that will make your administrator life a nightmare. So, the main question now is to find a good hosting for your website and that's how collocated hosting comes into the game. This hosting is the best one from all the hosting services as being the most stable one. More than that you will have an online assistant, 24/7 for a really reasonable price. You can make an annual subscription and you will have all the necessary options for a great hosting. So, collocated hosting, is the best option for a perfect web site

A colocation hosting is an option for small businesses that want the features which a large IT department possesses without any costs.

In Simple Words, Colocation hosting allows the website owner to place the server machine in another rack and share their bandwidth. As it normally costs more than standard hosting, but It would possess less amount of bandwidth.

There are many Advantages & also Disadvantages of this Colocated hosting:

    Advantages:
The biggest advantage is the cost of bandwidth as I have mentioned above
This hosting has better outrage facilities
There is also maintenance of the server

    Disadvantages:
Colocation providers can really hard to find
    It is more Expensive
Physical access on the server is difficult
The pricing of this hosting is always fluctuating

As these disadvantages create a vast problem for opting this hosting, So instead of going after this we can go for best & Cheap web hosting provider that provides the best features & services at the affordable pricing

In easy words, I’ll say in dedicated hosting you rent a server whereas in collocated hosting you rent a space for your server.

Collocated hosting is similar to a dedicated server where the server is rented out to the user. Colocation hosting is flexible, efficient and secure than hosting your own server.

Collocation hosting is very similar to dedicated hosting, but with one important difference. In case of dedicated hosting users rent servers and all the necessary infrastructure. However, in the case of hosting a collocation customers own the equipment, not rent it. They seek to increase equipment productivity by renting server space in the data center to have additional benefits such as reliable power, improved bandwidth, climate control and server cooling.

Colocation hosting is a type of service a data center offers, in which it leases space and provides housing for servers. The clients own the servers and claim full authority over the hardware and software. However, the storage facility is responsible for maintaining a secure server environment.
