Google’s own definition of bounce rate is: “The percentage of single-page sessions” (i.e. sessions in which the person left your site from the entrance page without interacting with the page).

A bounce rate in the range of 26 to 40 percent is excellent. 41 to 55 percent is roughly average.

As a rule of thumb, a bounce rate in the range of 26 to 40 percent is excellent. 41 to 55 percent is roughly average. 56 to 70 percent is higher than average, but may not be cause for alarm depending on the website. Anything over 70 percent is disappointing for everything outside of blogs, news, events, etc.

Standard good bounce rate is between 26 to 40 percent. But is completely depend on your website work. If your website has good loading time then this standard would be 20 to 35 but if your website's loading time is average then it would be the same standard. Most effective thing about bounce rate is about your website content.

Right. It is a single page view.

A good bounce rate is based on the amount of content you are engaging your visitors to stay or spend time on your website.

Bounce Rate is the percentage of visitors who enter the site and then leave rather than continuing on to view other pages of the same site. It is expressed as percentage. As per studies it is said that the average bounce rate of a website should be 40.45%.

Bounce rate is the percentage of visitors to a particular website who navigate away from the site after viewing only one page. It can be reduced by:

    Good content update
    Internal links
    Easy navigation
    Quick loading of webpage

e cautious with describing bounce rate as "instantly" - many analytics programs don't have the ability to detect the length of time a user stays on a page and hence, will count any single page visit as a "bounce." This could mean someone reads a post or article for 10 minutes, leaves the site, and it's still treated as a "bounce."

Bounce rate can be really good for comparing traffic sources side by side to see which provides greater page views/visit, but it's not a perfect measurement of engagement by any means.

Anything less than 22.8% would put you in the best 20% of sites we benchmark for bounce rate from Adwords on desktop device, and less than 15.8% would put you in the best 10%.
