A referring URL is the URL of a web page that links to a page on your website, thus sending traffic to you. If you use a web analytics application, you can see all referring URLs pointing to your website.

    Hi Friends,
Referring URLs are those URLs from which a unique user arrives at at a web site. To meet the definition of a referring URL:
    • The URL must be one from which a user first arrived at the site, leading to the start of a new visitor session (or visit).
    • The URL must contain a hypertext link to the site (as opposed to links generated by JavaScript).
    • The visitor must have clicked on that hypertext link on the referring site to arrive at the destination site.

The address of the webpage where a person clicked a link that sent them to your page.

The referrer is the webpage that sends visitors to your site using a link. In other words, it’s the webpage that a person was on right before they landed on your page.
Referrer URLs are logged by many web analytics programs including Google Analytics. You can monitor these URLs to get insight into where your web traffic is coming from.
