10 checking points to check a Web Host

The points to remember when choosing a Web Hosting Company:

    1) Check out the list of packages offered by the web hosting company. The longer the package list, the more choices you will have to choose the best hosting package for your usage.
    2) It is always better to take the advice of the webmasters or the technical staff for choosing the best package for your requirements. This will initially help you to screen out the response time for the particular host.
    3) Confirm whether the hoster is the master host or the reseller.
    4) Does the hosting company has ZERO OVERSELLING POLICY implicated over their servers.
    5) What are the location of the servers. A good web hoster has servers kept in two to three data centre locations. This is to avoid Single Point Network Failure.
    6) What is the normal uptime of the servers. The minimum uptime should be 99.99%. This you can check from the server status tab in the web hosting website.
    7) Does the web hoster provide a money back guarantee for the unsatisfied clients up till certain and definite period of time.
    8) Is their support system works practically for 24X7 and what is their initial response time(check this process within the money back guarantee period, coz till that time 100% of your money is kept safe).
    9) Is the refund policy customer friendly and is done without any hassle.
    10) Try to test out that “Are you a customer or a client for them”

    Hello
When it comes time to select who will be hosting your website, keep in mind that your web host is, in a way your business partner. Their service and performance could directly impact on your business so I’ve put together a list of my top 10 tips for choosing a web hosting provider:
    Reliability and Uptime

You really want this to be top of the list. If you host on a server that is only online 50% of the time then you’ll be losing half your visitors, business and income! Your web host should guarantee its uptime. You won’t ever find a host that has 100% uptime – but look for web hosts that at least guarantee a minimum of 99.5% uptime. Also check out the host’s redundancy – ask them what resources are available in the event of a utility failure? For example, a backup generator and uninterruptible power supply (UPS).
    Support

Following on from your server’s reliability, it’s a good idea to look for a host that will provide great, timely customer support. Customer support need not be via phone – email support is just as good as it provides a thread should an issue need to be escalated. Your website’s server and network should be monitored 24/7 – that includes public holidays!

May be you can check it by giving a call at the Web Host office at any round of clock and take a look of the response, often raise a ticket asking is your service 24x7 and watch how much time it takes to reply, in 2-3 days you can judge them at a good level

When you are interested in starting an online business, there are a lot of things that you have to study first before you can rightfully expect a high return on investment.

There are various types of web hosting services and it all depends on what you want to accomplish in building your website for your business. You should look at the different options which depend on these following factors:

Complexity of your website: you may want to talk to a developer on the complexity of your website, especially when it comes to graphics and database administration. You may have to consult with an internet specialist on the type of hosting that you need.

Some web hosting services are provided for free but you have to put up with ads that are on the top or bottom of your web site and those ads might not be conducive to the web site that you have developed.

Free hosting also has low bandwidth on the internet because of so many people using the free service instead of the paid service.

On the other hand, is hosting that you pay for that you have more control over when you load and host your website. You get POP mail access and can create as many emails as you want to which depends on the type of account that you pay for.

Every company has special packages for each and every need. From personal to business servers, even servers for special kinds of operating systems (UNIX, Windows, Linux and Apple) the choices vary depending on what you want to do.

The prices depend on how much space you need on the server to load your applications so you have to take into consideration what you want to put on the server through your website.

I wouldn't choose a host based on how many packages they have. I think you need to decide the type of package you want first, and then pick the host that does that best (while taking your other points into consideration). The packages they offer that aren't relevant to you shouldn't come into your decision making.
