[Tips] What to check when your website is inaccessible.

Websites are very popular in this era. A company needs a website to showcase its products and promote its business. An online tutoring school needs a website to stream live videos for students.

Any website is powered by a hosting service which is an internet service of renting space on a web server in an Internet Data Center with 24/7 internet connectivity to host websites or web applications.

Most web hosting providers guaranteed uptime of 99.9%. But if your website is inaccessible it may be because of the host is down or other reasons as follows. You need to keep this checklist in mind to solve the problem of an inaccessible website.

    1. Your domain is expire. In this case your website may be redirected to the domain parking page. Your website should be accessible again after your have your renew but your will have to wait for the DNS to update.

    2. If your website is redirected to a suspend page then it is likely your web hosting package is expire or your website have just use up all the allowed monthly bandwidth. If it is the first case you need to renew your hosting service as soon a possible otherwise your provider may delete your website data. It is is the second case you will have to upgrade your host plan to let your website up and running again.

    3. A website may be inaccessible from incorrect name servers or DNS settings.

    4. If your website display error or a blank page then it is likely that your web scripts do not work properly.

    5. If your website is redirected to another website then it is possible that your website is hacked or is attacked by a malware. In this case first you need to restore your website using a backup data. But if a restored website is still has virus then you have no choice but to remove the malware from your website manually.

If your website is inaccessible, there could be a variety of reasons for this, including issues with the server, domain name, or network connection. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1) Check your internet connection: Ensure that your internet connection is stable and functioning properly. Try accessing other websites to ensure that your connection is not the problem.

    2) Check the domain name: Verify that your domain name is correctly registered and is pointing to the correct IP address. You can use a domain name lookup tool to check the DNS records.

    3) Check the server: Ensure that your server is up and running properly. If you have access to your server, check the server logs for any errors or issues.

    4) Check the firewall: Make sure that your firewall is not blocking any incoming or outgoing traffic to your website.

    5) Check for updates: Check if there are any software or plugin updates that need to be installed. These updates may fix any bugs or security vulnerabilities that could be causing the website to be inaccessible.

    6) Contact your web hosting provider: If you are still unable to access your website, contact your web hosting provider. They should be able to help you diagnose and fix any issues with your website.

It's important to remember that website inaccessibility can be caused by a wide range of issues, and troubleshooting steps can vary depending on your specific situation.

If your website is inaccessible, there are several things you can check to diagnose the problem:

    1. Check your internet connection: Ensure that your internet connection is active and stable. Try accessing other websites to see if the problem is specific to your site or a broader connectivity issue.

    2. Check the server status: Ensure that your web server is up and running by contacting your web hosting provider or using a server monitoring tool. The server could be down due to maintenance or other issues.

    3. Check your domain name: Ensure that your domain name is active and pointing to the correct IP address. You can check this by performing a DNS lookup or contacting your domain registrar.

    4. Check your website files: Ensure that your website files are properly uploaded to the server and that there are no errors or issues with the website code. Check for any recent changes or updates that may have caused the issue.

    5. Check security settings: Check that your website's security settings are correctly configured and not blocking access to your website. This includes firewalls, security plugins, and any other security measures you may have in place.

    6. Check your website's SSL certificate: If your website has an SSL certificate, ensure that it is still valid and has not expired. An expired certificate can cause your website to become inaccessible.

    7. Contact your web hosting provider: If you are still unable to identify the problem, contact your web hosting provider for assistance. They should be able to help you diagnose and resolve the issue.
