Crawling and indexing are two distinct things and this is commonly misunderstood in the SEO industry. Crawling means that Googlebot looks at all the content/code on the page and analyzes it. Indexing means that the page is eligible to show up in Google's search results. They aren't mutually inclusive.

Crawling is basically commando crawling. The belly is in contact with the floor, elbows and knees are bent and the head is upright. ... Creeping is a means of mobility with the arms straight, belly off the ground and weight on the hands and knees.

At 6 months old, babies will rock back and forth on hands and knees. This is a building block to crawling. As the child rocks, he may start to crawl backward before moving forward. By 9 months old, babies typically creep and crawl.

Crawling is when Google or another search engine send a bot to a web page or web post and read the page. Crawling is the first part of having a search engine recognize your page and show it in search results.
    On the other hands
crawling means following your links and crawling around your website. When bots come to your website they follow other linked pages also on your website.
