Content writing includes a wider range of topics and niches you can cover, and can go as far as writing novels and stories. As a content writer, it is your job to well create content as the name suggests. It can be something as small as emails or as creative as opinion pieces and poems.

Content Marketing already has a certain business element to it. Your content must already be written from the perspective of offering a service or selling a product or advertising in at least some form. For this, you may be required to have Marketing background and also SEO (search engine optimization) skills in order to assure the client that what you are writing for them will gain exposure.

Content marketing means creating and sharing valuable free content to attract and convert prospects into customers — and customers into repeat buyers.

Copywriting gets a reader to take a specific action. Sometimes that’s making a purchase, but it can also be subscribing to your email list or calling you for more information.

The key difference between the two is that; content marketing is a permissive marketing technique while traditional marketing is an interruptive one. ... Content marketing is discovered by the consumers and, they consume it whenever they want to; they've given their permission to be marketed to.
