Short tail keywords are general search queries consisting of one or two words.

Sometimes called "head terms," they describe highly broad searches for information, e.g. "marketing," "smartphones," "fast food," "running shoes," and "buy laptops."

Short tail keywords, as you can see, are very generic in nature. They describe only a certain category of knowledge, so they attract high search volumes.

Long tail keywords are more specific, longer keyword phrases containing three and more words. For example, a short tail keyword "laptops" becomes "affordable laptops for students Australia" in a long tail version.

These keywords attract a lower amount of search results because they're more detailed and better targeted.

    Long-Tail Keywords:

Those are the phrase made from 4 to 5 keywords to match the search very closely. Long Tail is the niche keyword practice that has maximum chances to rank high. They have less competition.

eg: "cheap and best hotel for vegetarians", "best sports shoes for men".

Short Tail keywords: It is a keyword search in quantity one like for example "car" whereas longtail is "fastest car".

They have more competition. There are various search terms in a keyword like the exact match, Phrase match, fully modified match, Broad match.

Short tail keywords are search phrases with only one or words. Their length makes them less specific than searches with more words. “Egg” (1 word) is an example of a short tail keyword, whereas “Make scrambled eggs fluffy” (4 words) is a long tail keyword.

Short tail keywords are search terms that are made up of no more than three words. They refer to very broad topics rather than specific ones. For example, “running shoes” is an example of a short tail keyword while “best running shoes for winter” is an example of a long tail keyword

When you want to make a big impression, both long-tail and short-tail keywords can work to your advantage.
