    What is Keyword Density?

Keyword density is the measurement in percentage of the number of times a keyword appears compared to the total number of words on a page. Most webmasters are concerned with tweaking the keyword density for words they are trying to rank in search results. Keyword density can be calculated by dividing the total number of times a keyword appears on a page by the total number of words of page.

The keyword density features ad figures of the websites were once very important but nowadays the numbers like 2% or 12% might not be that important since the on page elements are believed to be not that important any longer.

The keyword density on your website is one of the fastest and simplest ways to increase your site's visibility in the search engine results pages. To better explain this reasoning, we will refer to a "keyword" as a word that your typical web surfer will input in the search box when searching for specific information about a product or service.
The true definition of “keyword density” is the ratio of the word that is being searched for, ie the keyword, against the total number of words appearing on a given web page. If your keyword occurs only once or twice in a page of 500 or more words, obviously it has a lower keyword density than a keyword that would occur six or seven times in a page of similar length.
As far as search engines are concerned, if a particular keyword has a higher density on that particular web page, then the chances of that page obtaining a much better search engine ranking increases almost exponentially. Not all search engines compute or evaluate keyword density in the same way and most have their own proprietary algorithm for calculating the average density of a keyword.

There are many opinions on what is the correct keyword density to use based on the formulas given above. The algorithm of Google is being updated and improved to leverage spammers so we really can't tell for sure if the keyword density your using is correcrt or not.

Well. just write meaningfully focusing on your readers and internet users, don't write for SEs .

    Keyword Density
There is another important aspect of onpage optimization. It is important to have your keywords appear in a page but it is also important that you maintain keyword density. Keyword density is the number of times your keyword appears in the page divided by total no. of keywords on the page. You have to maintain a keyword density between 4-8% depending upon the competition for your keyword. Check the keyword density of your competitor sites and try to be slightly higher than that. Use your judgment in deciding or contact us to do it for you.

The Keyword Density tool is useful for helping webmasters and SEO’s achieve their most favorable keyword density for a set of key terms. Keyword density is important because search engines use this information to categorize a site's theme and to determine which terms the site is relevant to. The perfect keyword density will help achieve higher search engine positions. Keyword density needs to be balanced correctly.

Keyword density refers to the ratio (percentage) of keywords contained within the total number of indexable words within a web page.

The preferred keyword density ratio varies from search engine to search engine. In general, I recommend using a keyword density ratio in the range of 2-8%.

The number of times a keyword has been used on a web page divided by the number of total keywords on a web page. Keyword = a single word.
